Imo City Chorale and orchestra was founded by *Eke Chijindu Favour Hedges* in *January 2020* in *Owerri Imo State Nigeria* and was registered on the *13th of August 2020* by the *corporate Affairs commission with Reg Number BN3158506*
The group started with about 15 people and now has more than 70 members, the group hosts two concert every year ( the Opera Imo concert and Trinity Concert) The Chorale have performed in many National and international programs like Aso Villa Christmas concert, Abuja Festival of Praise etc The group base in Owerri Imo State Nigeria is one of the most popular Chorale group in Nigeria today and known for there unique style of performance and have remained dedicated in the growth of Chorale music in Nigeria, the group was the first group ever in Africa to perform an Opera for the deadly COVID 19 as composed by Eke Chijindu Favour, the first to perform The Movie "Lion King" in Nigeria and the first to perform the full Handel's Messiah in Imo State Nigeria.The group won the best Chorale Group in South East Nigeria for 2021 by Nigeria classical music industry.
